Synopsis


Join us in this seminar as we discuss how Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) Design concepts are brought to life from design to construction. Awardees of the ABC Waters Certificate (Gold) will also be sharing on how they have managed to successfully integrate the blue and the green into their urban designs.

As a Director at STX, Alfred is involved in a variety of award-winning residential, commercial and institutional projects across Asia, including the Maldives, India and Malaysia. He has forged a reputation for creating sustainable and timeless landscapes, with meticulous attention to detail and materiality. A Full Member of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA), and a Corporate Member of the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM), Alfred splits his time between soccer and globe-trotting when not at the drawing board or attending to clients.
 

Sherman Stave

Sherman Stave is a landscape architect with more than 30 years of experience. He has practised extensively in Asia and North America. Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Canada, his exposure to diverse cultures from an early age has lent him broad global perspective, and a deep appreciation of how shaping our environments can change our lives in fundamental ways. Sherman's innovative and award-winning landscapes can be seen at resorts and hotels, parks and private condominiums, universities, mixed-use and commercial developments.

 

Goh Eng Kwang

In his 25 years career with Keppel, Mr Goh has held various leadership positions and was involved in the development, management and execution of multi-disciplinary infrastructure project(s) including large-scale water, waste-to-energy, power generation and port facilities. Apart from overseeing the Water Services and development of water related projects, currently Eng Kwang is also the Project Director for Singapore Integrated Waste Management Facility (SIWMF) and was the Project Director for the Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant which was completed in 2020. Mr Goh is a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Board, ASEAN Professional Engineers, Senior Member of the Institution of Engineers Singapore and Fellow member with Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

 

Leong Tatt Man

Mr. Leong joined OD architects in 2001 after graduating from the National University of Singapore. He spent 4 years under the mentorship of Master Planner Mr. Meng Ta Cheang specialising in urban design and master planning focusing on city-planning developments in China.

In 2005, Mr. Leong joined Architects 61 as a senior design architect where his planning experiences led him to specialise in cross-disciplinary design management and cross-agency project implementation. He gained extensive experience while collaborating with overseas design architects and also by working with various local authorities in his 10 years at Architects 61.

 

Hoo Xin Yu

Ms Hoo Xin Yu has 10 years of experience in the design and management of large-scale landscape developments, and was responsible for the design of iconic projects including National Orchid Garden Singapore. In HDB, she has established new policies on landscape design and provisions for biophilic and sustainable public housing estates. She currently leads a team of landscape professionals driving new developments and park upgrading projects across Singapore, including Bidadari Estate, Tengah Town and Punggol Town. Xin Yu is also an accredited landscape architect and ABC Waters Professional.

 

Damien Tang

National Parks Board


Mr Damian Tang is the Senior Design Director at National Parks Board. He oversees the design of parks and public spaces; leads greenery initiatives and implement biophilia strategies in urban spaces across Singapore. Damian works with different public agencies and organisations in inter-agency master planning and advises on township greenery planning and design, including design advisory for climate, coastal and ecological resilience for the city. He has more than twenty years of working experience in the field of architecture, landscape architecture and interdisciplinary practices. He was seconded to PUB in 2006 and supported the development of ABC Waters Master Plan across Singapore.
