New Appointments to the HDB Board

The Ministry of National Development (MND) has announced board appointment changes at the Housing & Development Board (HDB). The new term of the HDB Board will be from 1 Oct 2020 to 30 Sep 2022.

Chairman of the Board, Mr Bobby Chin Yoke Choong, has been re-appointed, along with six other members. Three members have stepped down from the Board, and three new members have joined the Board.

New Board Members

The three new HDB Board members have broad expertise and experience in the public service, accounting and architecture. They are:

• BG Lee Yi-Jin, Commander, 6th Division, Singapore Armed Forces

• Ms Rita Soh Siow Lan, Managing Director, RDC Architects Pte Ltd

• Mr Tan Wah Yeow, Non-Resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway; Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales

Re-appointment of Chairman and Board Members

Mr Bobby Chin Yoke Choong, Chairman of NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd, has been re-appointed as Chairman, HDB. 

Professor Lily Kong Lee Lee, President of Singapore Management University, has been re-appointed. She will assume the position of Deputy Chairman.

Six Board members have also been re-appointed. They are:

• Dr Cheong Koon Hean, Chief Executive Officer, Housing & Development Board

• Mr Mohd Sa’at Bin Abdul Rahman, Editor, Berita Harian/Berita Minggu, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd

• Dr Sudha Nair, Executive Director, PAVE

• Mr Stephen Lim Beng Lin, CEO, SQL View Pte Ltd

• Ms Jacqueline Loh Wai Yin, Deputy Managing Director, Markets and Development, Monetary Authority of Singapore

• Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan, Assistant Secretary-General, NTUC, and Member of Parliament, Pioneer SMC 

Board Members Stepping Down

Three Board members have stepped down at the end of their term on 30 Sep 2020. MND and HDB wish to thank them for their service, guidance and invaluable contributions during their term of appointment. They are:

• Mr Tham Sai Choy, Chairman, Governing Council, Singapore Institute of Directors; Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales

• Professor Heng Chye Kiang, Provost’s Professor, School of Design & Environment, National University of Singapore

• MG Goh Si Hou, Chief of Army, Singapore Armed Forces
