New Appointments to the Council for Estate Agencies Council

Two new Council members will be appointed to the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) Council with effect from 22 October 2018. Mr Quek See Tiat (郭书实), President of the Council, will be reappointed, along with eight other members.   

New Council members 

The two new members are:

Mr Mohamed Abdul Akbar Bin Mohamed Abdul Kader, Managing Director, Nan Guan Construction Pte Ltd; and

Dr Tan Tee Khoon (陈智群), Executive Director and Head of Residential Project Marketing, Knight Frank Pte Ltd and Key Executive Officer, KF Property Network Pte Ltd.

Re-appointed Council members 

In addition to Mr Quek, the eight re-appointed members are: 

Mr Lee Kwong Weng (李广荣), Executive Director, Council for Estate Agencies;

Mr Mike Chan Hein Wah (陈显华), Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Estate), Housing and Development Board;

Mr Loy York Jiun (黎学俊), Executive Director, Consumers Association of Singapore;

Mr Ng Boon Yew (吴文友), Executive Chairman, Raffles Campus Group;

Mrs Deborah Ong (陈映雪), Partner, PwC Singapore;

Mr Sin Lye Chong (冼礼聪), Group Director, Land Sales & Administration Group, Urban Redevelopment Authority; 

Mr Michael Tan (陈维新), Executive Director & Key Executive Officer, OrangeTee & Tie Pte Ltd; and 

Ms Tan Pei Shan (陈珮珊), Director, Energy Division, Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Members who are stepping down

The three Council members who are stepping down at the end of their terms on 21 October 2018 are: 

Ms Pauline Goh (吴宝玲), Chief Executive Officer, Singapore & Southeast Asia & Key Executive Officer, CBRE Pte Ltd;

Mr Harrif Bin Hambali, Consultant, Asian Leaders Institute Pte Ltd; and

Mr Derrick Wong (黄旺友), Consultant, Third Wind Consultant.

With these appointment changes, the CEA Council will have 11 members, including Mr Quek See Tiat. All appointments will be for a two-year term until 21 October 2020. The full list of CEA Council members is in the Annex

The Ministry of National Development (MND) and CEA welcome the new Council members and look forward to the continued contributions by the re-appointed President and Council members. MND and CEA also extend their appreciation to the outgoing Council members for their invaluable service, guidance, and contributions during their tenure.

The Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) is a statutory board established in 2010 under the Estate Agents Act to regulate and promote the development of a professional and trusted real estate agency industry. The key responsibilities of CEA are to license property agencies and register property agents, promote the integrity and competence of property agencies and property agents, and equip consumers with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions in property transactions involving property agents.
