Minister for National Development Mr Desmond Lee Attending 52nd St. Gallen Symposium in St. Gallen, Switzerland
Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee, will visit St. Gallen, Switzerland, from 2 to 5 May 2022, to attend the 52nd St. Gallen Symposium (SGS).
2 Minister Lee is scheduled to participate in a plenary session titled, “Thinking Long Term in Times of Perma-Crises”, during which he will be joined by Ms. Sophie Howe - former Future Generations Commissioner for Wales and Mr. Toby Thorpe, Deputy Mayor of Huon Valley Council, Tasmania. The session will be moderated by Ms. Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor for Bertelsmann Stiftung.
3 During his visit to Switzerland, Minister Lee will also host meetings with international counterparts to strengthen ties and explore opportunities for collaboration. He is scheduled to meet with Guy Parmelin, Switzerland's Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.
4 Minister Lee will be accompanied by Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Swiss Confederation Andrew Toh and officials from the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
