Changes to Board Members of the National Parks Board

Singapore, 31 July 2024 – The National Parks Board (NParks) welcomes five new members to the Board for a two-year term from 1 August 2024. The new members, who bring with them diverse expertise and experience from their work in the private and public sectors, are Mr Benett Maximillian Theseira, Ms May Loh, Mr Stephen Beng, Ms Magdelene Chua and Mr Lim Shung Yar.
Mr Loh Khum Yean, former Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Division, will be re-appointed as Chairman of NParks for another term with effect from 1 August 2024. Five existing Board members will also be re-appointed, namely Ms Tham Loke Kheng, Mr Gerald Tan Kwong Ming, Ms Nur Hidayah Bte Abu Bakar, Ms Eu Chin Fen and Ms Hwang Yu-Ning.
The five Board members stepping down from the Board after their terms end on 31 July 2024 are, Mr Cheng Hsing Yao, Ms Shantini Ramachandra, Mr Musa Fazal, Professor David Chan and Mr Lee Chee Koon.
The new 11-member Board (full list at Annex) will continue to guide NParks to transform Singapore into a City in Nature and further integrate nature into our city. This will strengthen Singapore’s distinctiveness as a highly liveable city while mitigating the impacts of urbanisation and climate change.
The Ministry of National Development and NParks thank the outgoing members for their invaluable guidance and contributions during their tenure, and welcome the new board members.
