Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan: To ask the Minister for National Development for each of the years from 2010 to 2020 (a) how many people in the labour force are working as real estate agents or salespersons; and (b) what is the breakdown for such persons in terms of full-time employment, part-time employment, educational qualification, age, gender and nationality.
Answer:
The Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) was set up in Oct 2010 to regulate the real estate agency industry. The annual number of real estate salespersons (RESs) since CEA’s formation is as follows:

Based on a survey conducted by CEA in end 2020, 59% of RESs indicated that they are working full-time as a RES, while the other 41% indicated that they are working part-time.
