A fruitful 2016 has passed, and everyone must be all geared up for 2017, expected to be filled with challenges and opportunities!

2016 wound up on a high note for many Singaporeans! The Car-Free Sunday SG initiative has brought much fun to many who enjoyed community activities in the Civic District, and even introduced trishaw rides so that our elderly can also enjoy our city. In October last year, NParks reopened Bukit Timah Nature Reserve following two years of restoration works and sensitive enhancements to the site. The Fresh Start Housing Scheme was also introduced to help more Singaporean families to own homes again.

Everyone has a part to play to build a better Singapore. Singapore’s youths, through BCA’s Project BUILD 2016 Competition!, envisaged the future of an inclusive Singapore through miniature models of buildings, developments and public spaces. MND’s volunteers and alumni have helped to build a more vibrant, green and endearing home in Singapore. To protect our fish supply, AVA is working with partners to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to help farmers better mitigate the impact of plankton blooms. CEA is working with the real estate agency industry to ensure that property agents continue to upgrade their skills and enhance their level of professionalism, and for agencies to become more customer-centric.

More offerings are expected to be in store for everyone! Jurong Lake Gardens is envisioned to be a people’s garden where families and the community can come together – with Jurong Lake Gardens West (renamed from Jurong Lake Park) scheduled to be completed in 2018.

As the year of the Rooster approaches, we wish everyone a bountiful and prosperous Lunar New Year. 祝大家心想事成!鸡年大吉!
