Research and Development (R&D) has played an important role in enabling the Ministry of National Development (MND) and our Statutory Boards realise our vision of making Singapore an endearing home and a distinctive global city. Examples of R&D efforts over the years include the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore’s (AVA) success in marine food fish hatchery technology development and the Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) many innovations and extensive use of pre-fabrication in building construction.

This biennial Award is set up for the first time this year, to inspire further technological innovation and recognise outstanding R&D efforts within the MND Family.

Projects are evaluated based on (i) their contribution to MND’s vision and mission and (ii) technological innovation. The inaugural award will be presented at the Urban Sustainability R&D Congress.
