MINISTER MAH BOW TAN VISITS HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM,
FROM 22 TO 24 APRIL 2009
1 Singapore's Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 22 to 24 April 2009.
2 During his visit, he will deliver a keynote address at the 19th Asia Society Corporate Conference.Organised by the New York-based Asia Society, the event is an annual gathering of top government leaders, key decision makers and industry experts from the international business community. This year, the Conference will discuss the challenges facing Asian economies and cities in light of the economic crisis. Minister Mah will share Singapore's urban development and management experience and highlight how Singapore is addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization and industrialization, which many Asian cities are facing today.
3 While in Vietnam, Minister Mah will also meet with Mr Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Mr Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. In addition, he will tour new township developments and projects spearheaded by Singapore companies in Ho Chi Minh City.
4 Minister Mah will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of National Development, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and the Building and Construction Authority.
