Exhibition cum Community Celebrations at West Zone

Join the Housing & Development Board (HDB) as they commemorate their housing success with residents at five zonal community celebrations organised between March and July this year. The celebrations feature a series of fun and exciting carnival of activities and the "Storeys of Our Homes" exhibition, which showcases how the public housing programme has improved the lives of the people in Singapore over the past 50 years. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Lim Boon Heng will join the latest celebration at the west zone.

Venue: Open field opposite Choa Chu Kang MRT station

22 May–20 Jun 2010 “BiodiverCity” Photo Exhibition

"BiodiverCity" - a photo competition and exhibition - is organised by the National Parks Board (NParks), in line with the International Year of Biodiversity to celebrate the rich variety of plants and animals found in our urban environment. Singapore is already known as a bustling city state and a centre for commerce. Now, through the lenses of our residents, visitors can also learn more about the island’s appeal as a haven for biodiversity.

Venue: Outside Mandarin Gallery along Orchard Road. The exhibition will roam to other locations after 20 June 2010.

26 May 2010 BCA Awards Ceremony 2010

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Awards is an annual event to honour and pay tribute to displays of excellence in the built environment. Dubbed the “Oscars” of Singapore’s building and construction industry, the prestigious Awards is held each year to recognise, inspire and encourage developers, architects, engineers, builders, and other building professionals to achieve excellence in environmental sustainability, building safety, quality and universal design.

Venue: Shangri-La Hotel

19 Jun 2010 Launch of Sungei Buloh Master Plan Public Exhibition

First unveiled in December 2008, the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve Master Plan outlined the main strategies in transforming the wetland reserve into a distinctive centre for education and recreation, and in strengthening the conservation of its biodiversity. Visitors can learn more about the detailed concept plans for Sungei Buloh in the years ahead at this public exhibition, which will be open to all from 19 June to 18 July 2010.

28 Jun – 1 Jul 2010 World Cities Summit 2010

The World Cities Summit is a biennial premier event that brings together practitioners and policy makers with leading experts in their field to identify innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing cities today. Organised under the theme, “Liveable and Sustainable Cities for the Future”, the four-day event offers a strategic platform comprising a high-level summit, plenary sessions, networking forums, and technical workshops. Through the exchange of ideas and knowledge, cities can learn from one another on creating a urban environments which are liveable, sustainable and forward-looking.

1–3 Jul 2010 Green Building Public Exhibition

The BCA Green Building Exhibition highlights key developments in Singapore's green building movement. A mock up Green Home is the key focus, showcasing existing and future green technologies in a home environment. Visitors can look forward to learning more about BCA, meeting green building mascots "Greco" and "Beco", as well as delight in some fun games and prizes.
