Retreat between PM Lee and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono

A light moment between the two leaders


Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono conducted a retreat at the Singapore Botanic Gardens on 17 May 2010. A magical lush landscape, vibrantly accessorised with orchids of red and white hues, was specially designed and created for the occasion. The retreat provided an opportunity for the two leaders and ministers from both countries to strengthen both bilateral and personal ties. Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan was also present at the event.


Visit by Governor-General of New Zealand, Sir Anand Satyanand

His Excellency, Sir Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand, visited the National Orchid Garden with his wife, Lady Susan Satyanand, on 17 May 2010. The Singapore Minister-in-attendance and Lady-in-attendance were Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Mrs Joy Balakrishnan. An orchid, the Dendrobium Anand Satyanand ‘Susan’, was named in conjunction with the visit by Sir Anand and Lady Susan.


Courtesy Call by Governor of Jilin Province, Wang Rulin

Governor of Jilin Province Wang Rulin called on Minister Mah Bow Tan on 20 May 2010. Governor Wang was leading a delegation to Singapore for the signing of a series of agreements for the China Jilin (Singapore) Modern Agricultural Cooperation Food Zone with Singapore agencies.


Courtesy Call by Nantong Mayor Ding Dawei

Nantong Mayor Ding Dawei paid a courtesy call on Minister Mah Bow Tan on 10 Jun 2010, when he led a delegation on an official visit to various Singapore companies. Mayor Ding sought Minister Mah’s advice on Singapore’s experience in developing industrial parks in China.
