16-17 Jan 2010 Film screening: Singapore Hornbill Project - Return of the King

A documentary about the endeavours of a team of dedicated researchers, passionate citizen scientists, bird lovers and like-minded sponsors who spent more than six years studying the ecology and breeding behaviour of the Oriental Pied Hornbill.

26-29 Jan 2010 International Housing Conference

As part of HDB’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the International Housing Conference aims to bring together experts and practitioners to explore the issue of sustainable development, particularly in the area of housing.  It will also look at the three aspects of sustainability – environment, social and economic – and will examine strategies and creative solutions in the planning, design and development of housing to ensure affordability and sustainability.

The exhibition will showcase 50 remarkable years of public housing in Singapore and HDB's contributions in the areas of town planning, architectural design, technological innovations, housing management, and community development during the past five decades. The exhibition will also offer participants a peek into the future of public housing to meet the challenges of creating ideal living environments and fulfilling the aspirations of its residents.
