Life in Toa Payoh in the 1960s and 70s saw vegetable farms in Potong Pasir and kampungs dotting the landscape. In 2008, Toa Payoh is home to the Central Horizon - a development of five 40-storey-high apartment blocks with lush greenery and a 12-storey sky garden. The distinctive curved form of the old development is retained in the present design of the development.
