Editor's Note

I’ve always looked around and marvelled at how green Singapore is. It seems almost impossible to step anywhere without seeing trees and shrubs, or even an open lawn. And this impression is only going to become stronger, as skyrise greenery makes its way into office buildings, communal areas and homes under URA’s latest programme to encourage more vertical greenery in private developments.

Talking about greenery, how can we forget NParks’ role as the champion for the transformation of Singapore into a lush and green City in a Garden? The much-loved Singapore Botanic Gardens has just welcomed a new addition designed and built by students. The Gardens will also expand to include a new arboretum at Tyersall Avenue. Read more about it in this month’s MND Link.

Also heading in the green direction are buildings all round the world, which are becoming more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Keen to learn more? Then keep your eyes peeled, as BCA gives a preview of their coming International Green Building Conference.

Finally, do you like your meat? Let AVA debunk the myths surrounding frozen meat. HDB will also share the good news of how it improves on its business-friendliness.

Be green, and happy reading!
