Editor's Note

I’m always impressed by the many routes down the path to innovation taken by agencies in the MND Family.  This month, we review the range of R&D activities across the ministry, and shed light on the tangible contributions made to Singapore’s sustainable development.

Separately, learn about how BCA has managed to surmount resource and technological challenges by pushing ahead with Singapore’s first Zero Energy Building.  Just imagine the good it will do for Mother Earth, with its zero overall energy consumption.

Meanwhile, counterparts at HDB really mean it when they say they will take care of the life-cycle housing needs of Singapore’s population. Not only is HDB building flats to house a nation, the agency has made a useful foray into redesigning “sanctuaries” for the dead, in an effort to optimise burial land use.

Also in this month, NParks zeros in on the amazing wildlife and nature in Singapore by chronicling them in various publications. From migratory birds to trees to vertical greenery – there’s almost something for every lover of nature out there.

And there’s more!  Check out URA’s latest update on Marina Bay, and don’t forget to try out some of the tasty meaty recipes on offer, as AVA continues its promotion of frozen meat across Singapore.

Enjoy this juicy and delicious issue of MND Link!
