Deputy
Director/Planning and Research
The
role of the Planning and Research Department is to support
MND in its policy functions through providing objective economic
and policy research as well as helping steer the strategic
direction of the MND Family to achieve its Vision and Mission.
Job
Description
Your
primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the
following:

Oversee
a team of researchers to conduct and review economic
research in areas of policy relevance to MND; |
| - |
Conduct
policy reviews to support policy formulation; |
| - |
Anticipate future trends and issues that may have an
impact on MND and its areas of responsibility; and |
| - |
Provide
policy makers with perspectives on topics of interest,
particularly the issues that cut across MND agencies.
|
You
will apply economic analysis in areas such as the property
market, land use planning, public housing, parks development,
food safety, and the construction industry. You will also
carry out important research to support the strategic planning
initiatives of MND.
Job
Requirements
You
should:
| - |
Have
a Masters/PhD in Economics from a university of international
standing; |
| - |
Have
at least eight years of working experience; |
| - |
Have
strong econometrics skills for forecasting, policy modeling
and scenario development |
| - |
Possess
sound analytical abilities necessary for complex but
stimulating policy-oriented work and at the same time
have the ability to express complex ideas simply and
logically |
| - |
Have
excellent communication and writing skills; |
| - |
Be
able to work effectively both individually and in teams
with people at various levels; |
