MEETING OF ASEAN MINISTERS ON AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY, 16-17
NOVEMBER 2006
Singapore
will be hosting the 28th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on
Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) on 16 November 2006 at Marina
Mandarin Singapore.
At the meeting, the ASEAN Ministers will discuss areas for
collaboration in ensuring food safety, facilitating trade
of agricultural products, implementation of animal health
and regional fisheries programmes, as well as updates on the
progress of Avian Influenza control measures in ASEAN countries.
The meeting will be preceded by the ASEAN Senior Officials
Meeting, which will take place from 13 to 15 November 2006.
The ASEAN Ministers will also meet their counterparts from
the People’s Republic of China, Japan and the Republic
of Korea in the 6th AMAF+3 Meeting on
17 November 2006. The 6th AMAF + 3 meeting
will discuss ways to strengthen research development, promote
agri-trade, and facilitate training and technical co-operation.
The list of Ministers and Vice Ministers who will be attending
the AMAF and AMAF+3 Meetings is attached at the Annex.
