NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS BOARD AND BOARD OF ARCHITECTS

The Professional Engineers Act and Architects Act were amended in August 2005 to enable the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and Board of Architects (BOA) to carry out their roles more effectively.

2         The Boards have been enlarged and will each comprise a maximum of 15 members. To give professionals a greater say in selecting their representatives, registered engineers and architects will elect up to 6 members to the PEB and BOA respectively.

3         With the expiry of the previous Boards on 31 Dec 2005, new members have been elected or appointed to the Boards.

4         The PEB is led by its President, Er. Chua Koon Hoe, Partner, Big On Space LLP. Other members of the board are:

a)  Er. Chan Peng Kong, Squire Mech Pte Ltd;
b)  Er. Prof Chew Yong Tian, National University of
     Singapore;
c)  Er. Chionh Chye Khye, Building And Construction
