The Art Park

A working plan of the Art Park
Besides the double helix bridge, another attraction will soon be developed around Marina Bay. Construction of Singapore’s first Art Park, which will be situated at the northern end of the bridge and next to the seating gallery of The Float, is scheduled to begin soon. The Park will feature 27 art works by Singapore youths, which were selected from 136 entries submitted in a competition in March 2006 to express ideas based on the theme “Aspirations for Life in Singapore”.
Visitors can look forward to a fun-filled and interactive experience at the Art Park. There will be a landscaped maze featuring a 4.5-metre high sculpture taking the form of a girl on top of a mountain. There will also be a rock wall featuring 18 drawings of Singapore icons and an area with interactive ‘hop-scotch’ lighted floor tiles.
The new Bridge and the Art Park at Marina Bay are set to become new urban landmarks in the heart of the city. Visitors can walk, jog or cycle along this waterfront route, soaking in panoramic views of the gardens and the water with our city’s signature skyline. By night, the skyline will grow and sparkle with beautifully lit building crowns and facades to create memorable night scenes.
