Ms Tan did not give up when the customer she worked with was unable to find a suitable resale flat despite the efforts both put in. The divorcee, who needed a place to live in after her ex-husband left her and her two children, was not eligible to buy a new flat because she had just sold a private property (her matrimonial home from her previous marriage). Instead, Ms Tan consistently updated the customer until the 30-month waiting period was up and she was finally eligible to purchase an HDB flat. Ms Tan then helped obtain special approval to incorporate a $69,000 resale levy on the flat price – an amount the customer would otherwise not have been able to afford. The customer, delighted and touched at Ms Lim’s persistent efforts, wrote, “No words can express my gratitude for her help and support all this while…Finally, we have a home of our own!”
