About this scheme

The Married Child Priority Scheme encourages married children and parents to reside within the same or neighbouring estate. Applicants are given double the ballot chances as compared to those who are not applying to stay near their parents/married child.

As part of ongoing efforts to promote strong family ties, the Married Child Priority Scheme (MCPS) increases the chances of success through additional ballot chances for parents and married children who apply to stay with, or near each other.

Household Type Not applying to stay near parents/married child Eligible for Enhanced MCPS and apply to live:

First-Timers 2 4 6 (previously 4)
Second-Timers 1 2 3 (previous 2)
Who can apply?

At least one of the parents/married child is a Singapore Permanent Resident or Singapore Citizen.

Applicants also need to meet any of the following conditions:

  • They are applying for flats located in the same estate, and are owners, tenants or occupiers of a rental or HDB flat.
  • The flats are within 2 km of each other.
  • Parents/married child are included in the same application

  1. When will this take effect?

    This will take effect from March 2012’s BTO exercise.

  2. If I am not yet married, am I still eligible for this scheme?

    Yes, courting couples applying for a flat under the Fiancé/Fiancée (FS) Scheme are also eligible for this scheme.
